Yea! I'm there, finally the top of the range.

Well in this picture I'm not there quite yet...but I was taking my time on the walk up, there was too much to enjoy, this kinda stuff can't be rushed.

Okay so here I am at the highest point you can get to without taking out your climbing pick, Klein (small) Matterhorn. The crowd on the way up was pretty varied, there were people like me, hikers and the obvious tourists, some more serious climbers and the skiing crew - skiers and snowboarders. I'm not to sure what everyone was skiing on...since the snow was pretty packed and icy, given that it was the end of August and the sun was beating down. I did get to see members of the national ski teams for France, Norway, Japan and Spain.

In the above picture you may be able to see a trail and you can actually climb to the top of Klein Matterhorn, the picture at the top, but this is not a venture for the casual hiker. One day though I'd like to make the trip up.

So this is the view of the Matterhorn from just below the Klein Matterhorn....I actually decided to do some hiking around at one of the car stops. The terrain was really neat and there was volcanic rock everywhere, yeah I took some rocks I couldn't help it they were neat looking.

I knew this was going to be another tough place to leave...there are so many hiking trails and so many different things to see...all you need is some time, a friendly disposition and a bagful of local greetings. See you later I have to get down from here.
