I was fortunate enough to find the absolutely cute alstadt of a city called Schiltach...there were half-timbered houses all over the place. There's a small river that runs through the city and most of the houses are built up against a hill...too cute. I've been very hard pressed to find a city like this during my stay here...and this is exactly what I imagined a German city of times past to look like.
One of the best parts was that it seemed pretty undiscovered, there was only one group of tourists and given the short blurb in my Lonely Planet...this is probably not a top destination for most. This is definately just a pass-through stop..and it took me about an hour to check it out...you have to factor in your own time that you might need for picture taking and traversing the cobble stone streets.
I finished my trip by taking the Schwarzwald-Hochstrasse, the B500, that cuts through the Black Forest...it's really pretty...and like I said before there are trees for miles and miles around. Another good weekend in one of the most beautiful parts of Germany.
